There are two airports located at Baltra Island and the other at San Cristobal Island which receive flights from mainland Ecuador.

The most frequently used airport is at Baltra Island (South Seymour), across a narrow strait from Santa Cruz Island, the other airport is located at Puerto Baquerizo Moreno (Galapagos capital city).

The two Islands are 96 Km apart and on most days there are local flights in light aircraft between them, as well as to Puerto Villamil on Isabela Island.

The major Islands in Galapagos are also connected by an irregular boat service between Puerto Ayora Puerto Villamil, Puerto Baquerizo Moreno and Floreana Island

The flight time to the Galapagos Islands is approximately 1 and a half hours from Guayaquil and 2 and a half hours (including a stop in Guayaquil) from Quito. The national airlines that provide flight transportation are: Tame and AeroGal
