There are no International airlines that arrive directly to the Galapagos Islands yet. You must first arrive to the country of Ecuador either to the city of Quito or Guayaquil and purchase a ticket to Galapagos in any of the 2 national airlines (Tame and AeroGal) that provide this service.

There are two airports located at Baltra Island and the other at San Cristobal Island which receive flights from mainland Ecuador.

The most frequently used airport is at Baltra Island (South Seymour), across a narrow strait from Santa Cruz Island, the other airport is located at Puerto Baquerizo Moreno (Galapagos capital city).

The two Islands are 96 Km apart and on most days there are local flights in light aircraft between them, as well as to Puerto Villamil on Isabela Island.

The major Islands in Galapagos are also connected by an irregular boat service between Puerto Ayora Puerto Villamil, Puerto baquerizo Moreno and Floreana Island

The flight time to the Galapagos Islands is approx. 1 and a half hours from Guayaquil and 2 and a half hours (including a stop in Guayaquil) from Quito. The national airlines are that provide flight transportation are: Tame and AeroGal



The Galapagos Islands belong to the country of Ecuador which is located North-West of South America. It is a group of 13 major islands and around 40 islets.

One of its main attractions is the unique wildlife not found anywhere else in the world. These Archipelago was also declared a World Heritage.
