Galapagos Activities

Some Galapagos Activities you will be able to enjoy are hiking, diving, snorkeling, kayaking, birdwatching among others..


SANTA FE ISLAND (Barrington)

Hike through Opuntia cacti and Palo Santo forests. You can see endemic land iguanas, lava lizards and sea lion colonies. It is a great spot for swimming and snorkeling.

FERNANDINA ISLAND (Narborough)

Walk among the hundreds of marine iguanas on black lava rocks. See flightless cormorants, penguins, pelicans, sea lions and mangrove forests.

The ground will reveal the beautiful shapes that lava forms once it has cooled off. This is perhaps the most remote island in the Pacific Ocean. More about Fernandina Island

ISABELA ISLAND (Albemarle)

The Galapagos activities in this Island include a hike uphill Tagus Cove that takes you around Darwin's Crater salt-water lake for an outstanding view.

Take a boat ride along the seashore to see penguins, flightless cormorants, boobies and brown pelicans.

At Urbina Bay you will step on a dark volcanic sand beach. At this place you will se colorful land iguanas and Galapagos giant tortoises. Enjoy the view of a superb coral uplifting.

While on Isabela Island visit Punta Moreno and delight with a spectacular view of lava flows from Alcedo, Sierra Negra and Cerro Azul volcanoes.

It is an ideal location to see the different birds living in Galapagos. Punta Vicente Roca is another great spot to admire the stunning Galapagos Landscapes



BARTOLOME ISLAND

This is maybe one of the most photographed Islands in Galapagos. Climb up a wooden staircase to the summit for a stunning view of two beautiful bays.

The main Galapagos activities at Bartolome Island are observing the fascinating formations of lava flows and spatter cones and visiting a beautiful sandy beach which is perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Experience a close contact with tropical Galapagos Penguins

RABIDA ISLAND (Jervis)

Enjoy the turquoise waters that surround this Island. It has an incredible red-sand beach and you will have to climb through a trail that will take you to the peak of the Island for a stunning view. It is a great place for snorkeling. Read more about Rabida Island

FLOREANA ISLAND (Charles)

The main Galapagos activities at this island are the visit to the famous barrel which is a postal service set up during the 18th century by whalers and observing sea lion colonies at La Loberia islet.

Visit also at Punta Cormorant the olivine-crystal beach, and the white-sand beach where sea turtles nest. Snorkeling at Devil's Crown is highly recommended.

ESPAŅOLA ISLAND (Hood)

It is great for swimming and snorkeling at Gardner Bay beach and the nearby islets. If you like hiking go to Punta Suarez for a walk on lava rocks along a trail dotted with nests of Galapagos Boobies You will also see Galapagos doves, sea lions, and Darwin's finches.

SANTIAGO ISLAND (James)

The Galapagos activities to enjoy at Santiago Island are among others: swimming, snorkeling and watching the spectacular lava formations from the latest volcanic activity in 1897.

SANTA CRUZ (Indefatigable)

The Charles Darwin Research Station is located here. You can see the Giant tortoises at this station.

Take a walk to the highlands to visit the Pit Craters which is also an outstanding area for birdwatching and observation of flora of the highlands.

At the city of Puerto Ayora you will find everything you need such as hotels, restaurants, bars, Internet, telephone, fax and land based tour operators.

SAN CRISTOBAL ISLAND (Chatham)

The suggested Galapagos activities at this island are the following: Visit the Interpretation Center at Puerto Baquerizo Moreno (The main city) as well as Isla Lobos.

The best activity is to hike to the highlands for great landscape photography.

GENOVESA ISLAND (Tower)

The most popular activity here is birdwatching because this Island is known as the bird Island. It is home to thousands of frigate birds, red-footed boobies, noddy terns, lava gulls, tropic birds, doves, storm petrels and Galapagos finches.

Other rewarding Galapagos activities include a Snorkeling Adventure along the amazing cliff-sides and walking on lava rocks at Prince Philip's Steps.
