The Sea Finch yacht was refurbished for day trip operations in 2006 to suit the comfort and functionality of the Finch Bay Hotel.
It has a capacity of 20 guests, four crewmembers plus up to two naturalists, it is the right vessel for short excursions into the nearby Islands.
It is fully air-conditioned and has plenty of space outside for enjoyment of the sun and the sea.
The Hotel provides mountain bikes for the 15 kilometer ride on dirt and gravel road to the Garrapatero Beach.
A security vehicle will follow the group to provide emergency assistance or to pick-up weary riders along the way.
A tour leader will accompany the riders providing information along the way and assisting the riders as needed.
Bike Quest for Giant Tortoises
From the highlands of Santa Cruz ride about 14 kilometers (8 miles) on paved and dirt roads of medium difficulty.
Arrive at the El Chato Tortoise Reserve and then take a 45 minute hike within the reserve. You will return to Puerto Ayora by private transportation.
Birdwatching is also part of our Galapagos land tours. A hike to the lava rocks in Las Grietas is a great introduction to the arid zone of Santa Cruz Island. Along the way you will see many land and lagoon birds.
Las Grietas are deep cuts in the volcanic base of the Island where sea water infiltrates through and turns into clear blue water. Las Grietas are also a refreshing place for swimming and snorkeling.

It is a climbing activity on wooden steps to the summit, it is worth the effort because there is a spectacular view of the Galapagos scenery from above.
Interesting lava formations and tuff cones can be observed. Sea lions and penguins swim in the vicinity of Pinnacle Rock. Enjoy snorkeling or swimming from the beach.
North Seymour Island
A hike on flat terrain will allow you the observation of Palo Santo trees and colonies of blue-footed boobies, swallow-tailed gulls and magnificent frigate birds. You will also explore the other side of the Island, the ocean crashes against the rocks and sea lions surf in the waves.
This small island is full of fascinating wildlife, at sea side and along the cliffs. You will be able to obeserve: sea lions, land iguanas, swallow-tailed gulls, Opuntia cacti and vegetation that changes colors with the seasons.
Santa Fe Island (Barrington)
A short trek leads through woods of Opuntia cacti and Palo Santo trees. Land iguanas (endemic to Santa Fe), lava lizards and colonies of sea lions can be observed. You will have the opportunity to swim and snorkel.
