 It is a Seventh Heaven Beach with perpetual warm water and a multicultural atmosphere.This exotic beach is located in the new province of Santa Elena, 40 miles north of Salinas beach. This is a friendly and laid back destination. It is also known as the Surfers Town. There are many activities to do around Montanita Ecuador including surfing, scuba diving, wildlife tours and horse riding. Surfing at Montanita EcuadorThe point known as "La Punta" is a right wave, break point wave located one kilometer north of Montañita. Fast, strong and sometimes long, is one of the most respected waves at Ecuador. If the conditions are good, with a big north swell, not too much wind, the wave can get 10 feet tall. This wave is for intermediate and advanced surfers, the bottom is reef and at the end of the wave is sandy. Montanita VillageMontanita consists of two small towns, the original main town of "Alta Montañita", about one kilometer to the south, off the beaten track and "Baja Montañita" on the northern end of the beach, where surfers and body surfers usually meet in the afternoon.The charming town of Montanita offers a variety of inexpensive hotels, national and international food, and an exhilarating nightlife. Several artisans that work jewelry and clothing are found along the main street. Surf shops and surf rent stores are at your service. But Montanita is more than just surfing. It is one of the most interesting villages in South America. It is a multicultural mix of locals and tourists from all over the world sharing an incredible natural environment. The Trigrillo area (100 mts from the town) in the mountains, is full of vegetation and the fauna is plentiful (butterflies, birds and more species).
