Salcedo is located near the City of Ambato which is famous for its yearly flowers and fruits carnivals.

A nice place to stay near Salcedo is Rumipamba de las Rosas, this is a beautiful hotel with swimming pool, good food and outdoor activities. (horse-back riding, hiking, etc)

You can also visit the Cotopaxi National Park located near Salcedo. The Cotopaxi is the highest active volcano in the world. This volcano, with its snow-covered top, provides some perfect opportunities for pictures.

At the Cotopaxi National Park you can expect to see wild horses, deer, llamas, pumas and Andean condors.

The park is also a perfect destination for Ecuador Birdwatching since the forests and plains are home to birds such as condors, blue-billed pointed ducks, Andean gulls and hummingbirds.
